back-ground
Starting out in Des Moines in the 90’s it wasn’t as easy place to implement creative ideas. Downtown development of the east and west sides were only nameless ideas then. Early on I went to work with a team on what came to be the Gateway-West. I have had the opportunity to hone talents, grow, and see the physical and cultural transformation of city districts. Today’s architect is challenged with an entirely new set of problems. With different public design expectations and overdue environmental needs, thoughtful design has moved beyond the urban limits. Eagerly, I am following this shift with Des Moines, and Iowa, as my base.
